BTS has nothing to worry about!

If you’ve been reading our blog, you know Judy and I are going to go to a BTS concert. In light of that, two of my local friends who are also going to the concert (and who want to remain unnamed) and I decided to go to a local "K-POP STARS LIVE SHOW" near where we live. It featured a Kpop cover band that had won a competition in Korea, and we couldn’t believe it was close to home. We thought this would be a good introduction to what an actual BTS concert would be like, and maybe we could get a jump on how to be cool at the concert and even learn some of their complicated dance moves.
SPOILER ALERT: THIS DID NOT HAPPEN
Of course they were sold out! However, we did not let that deter us. After all I had recently jumped through hoops with Judy snagging BTS Tickets. We drove to the theatre, talked to the person at the box office, and came up with bupkis...everything STILL sold out. She said we could see if anyone was selling their tickets at the door. It didn’t look good.
However, while standing there, she said someone had called who couldn’t use her tickets, so we called her and offered to buy them. You’d have thought we were getting to meet the actual group themselves!

If you had been there, you might have looked more closely at who was streaming into the theatre than we did. The audience consisted of young parents and young kids. Many of the children were wearing KPop Demon Hunters costumes. The merchandise in the lobby was geared for kids 12 and under, all very expensive. Again, we were so excited we’d scored tickets, we didn’t notice anything until the show began.
S l o w l y it dawned on us: we were at a show where NO ONE WAS OUR AGE. I was clearly the oldest person there.

So…how was the show? (S l o w l y I’m getting to that). It consisted of three short acts featuring dance groups doing numbers from BLACKPINK, BTS, and K-POP DEMON HUNTERS. It lasted about an hour with a 15 minute intermission between BTS and K-POP DEMON HUNTERS. The troupe featured enough dancers to fill most of the spots except for BTS, which only had 6 dancers, one a female. All lip synced to the real music of each group. Their dance moves were not as polished as the real groups, but the kids didn’t care. They were wildly enthusiastic with every song; singing, jumping, screaming, and dancing. It could have been infectious…I guess.

Me, I was glad it only lasted an hour, that I wasn’t tempted by the merch, and that I could go out to dinner and not have to cook ~ Pat
It's Judy. I must admit this sounds like a great plan that maybe missed the mark by just a bit. But now that I know there is a competition for this I think we may need to start busting out our dance moves!
