406, BABY!

Pat here! This probably doesn’t matter to any of our readers, but it made my day. (It’s amazing how little things can make my day.)
I’m watching When the Phone Rings, and it’s great. The kidnapper uses a special untraceable phone that distorts the caller’s voice. The call numbers are from somewhere in the United States but it’s never explained where.
But I can tell you! 406 is the area code for Montana. That’s where I grew up. Anyone from Montana instantly recognizes 406 as the state’s only area code. It services about one million people, and that is all.
I’m wondering if the writer of the show has some connection to Montana. So few people have this area code for their phones and it’s such an obscure number. For the show to pick this number must mean something profound, right? I hope so!
Oh Pat, maybe the writer is a gorgeous Korean man and wants to meet a native Montanan. Pretty soon you may dump your current husband of decades and move to Korea to be involved in screenwriting! And then you'll want me to join you as an assistant. Let me know when I should pack my bags!
