We can hardly believe it, but, yes, we’ve managed to get to 300 posts. This is the 300th. Wohoo!!

I supposed I should say something pithy and profound, but I’m all out of snappy witticisms. I think Jerry Seinfeld said it best when asked what his long running eponymous show was about. He said, “So I go into NBC. I tell them I have an idea for a show about nothing.”

While our blog is more than about nothing, on the scale of WHAT IS IMPORTANT, its not so earthshaking, is it?

So what have I gotten from this? First, a barrel full of laughs.

Second, a reconnection with Judy, my former neighbor and now blog partner.

Third, a lifelong fascination with Kdramas and everything Korean.

Fourth, many new connections with people who are as nuts as I am about Kdramas.

Fifth, a daily lesson on the importance of cultural differences and how they all matter, even if I don’t completely understand them.

You can tell these ladies are not Pat & Judy.... notice the hair color and presence of a waist line?

So what have I not gotten from this? First, no wider understanding of the Korean language. You’d think after watching so many Kdramas, some of it would have come through osmosis. Nope, it hasn’t.

Second, no better tolerance of spicy food. With all the sampling of gochuang, kimchi, and red peppers, you’d think I’d have developed some endurance for the Scolville scale.

Third, no better acceptance of all the physical abuse in the Kdramas. Enough! Fourth, no idea why Kdrama fans go to fan meetings. I went to one. It didn’t happen for me. (Disclaimer: If Gong Yoo had one, I’d have to be a hypocrite about this issue.)

Fifth: why can’t I have the same kind of skin Korean women have? I’m using all my Korean products now. Is it too much to ask?

This has been an enormous amount of fun for me. Thank you to Judy for suggesting it. We’re not done yet. We’ve got lots more to say, and we hope you will want to read it! ~ Pat
