Amazing Journey!

When Pat and I started this blog business we didn't really know what to expect. We just felt like we had WORDS we wanted to share, and maybe people might like to read those words. Now we're 4 years into it and it's been pretty incredible.

Headed into the Big City!

Last weekend we met up in Stanford (Palo Alto) for a BTS Concert. Neither Pat nor I are big time Kpop fans but our interest in Kdrama has expanded to include some Kpop and Korean music... thus the decision to go to the Concert. We had 8 total tickets and of those 8 people only 2 knew anything about BTS prior to this year!! But this group is super enthusiastic and made for an exciting weekend. We met at Pat's house for a luncheon with gift bags featuring the band members. The California group took us Line Dancing that evening (they do that 3x weekly!).... And then we drove to Palo Alto for the actual concert the following morning.

We made arrangements to meet up with a blog follower for dinner. Yvonne is an incredible person who travels the globe, and we were lucky enough to meet her at our Hallyu Conference a few years ago. She follows the blog and we have stayed in contact. She had a custom made, batik Hanbok for the concert - shout out to Indonesia - , and the folks who run the show featured her on the slide show in the stadium since she looked beautiful! Just imagine.... our friend on the Jumbotron!

Concert day is a lot of logistics. Figuring out how to get to the venue, what time to go, what incredible outfits we should wear.... that all takes time. Our whole group met up with another Kdrama fan who Pat met at a book signing a couple of years ago for lunch. Tracey has us beat because she's watched over 600 shows and has the most intense spreadsheet I’ve ever seen! BTS Fans were staying at the hotel so there were lots of hellos and thumbs up. Two young women stopped to talk for a bit. One of them is going to all 3 Brussels shows, all 3 Munich Shows, all 3 Paris shows, 3 Vegas shows, and all of the LA Shows. And you thought we were besotted!

Doesn't German friend, Karo, look fabulous? And those seats with a great view!

We'll talk about the actual Concert in another post but I'm just amazed that my little world has expanded so much with so many fascinating, diverse, and fun people from around the world. Never did I think our WORDS would have this impact. ~ Judy

We’re still floating from this fantastic experience. The spirit of connection was just amazing. I know I sound like…well, not like me, but this really was a special event. ~Pat
