Bad Haircuts*

Park Seo-joon of Itaewon Class fame with a decent haircut.
I recently finished Itaewon Class starring Park Seo-joon and Kim Da-mi among others. Park is a good looking dude but you really wouldn’t know it from this Kdrama. In my opinion he has the absolute worst hairdo I’ve ever seen on a lead actor. It’s so bad, in fact, that it influenced a certain someone* to state that he wasn’t one of her favorites. I know for a fact that her perception of him was completely colored by his hair.
Does this make her assessment of him seem a bit shallow? YES!! His acting was right on, and I’d even admit his haircut did a decent job of lending a certain aura to his character. He was supposed to be a screw up and a bit of a principled loser, and his haircut exemplified that.
That being said, though, his “do” still gets the top prize in the “too bad to be real” category.

Yes, it's awful but I may be alone in finding him very unappealing from the get go when I saw him in Hwarang, Poet Warrior Youth, which he stars in with Park Hyung sik, who I love. Just....no. These things are very subjective I guess.
That's so funny! I first saw him in this show and thought the haircut was cute! For bad haircuts, try looking back at some of the dramas from the early 2000's. Or look at those totally bizarre hairstyles in Boys Over Flowers!
My daughter and I call that the "chestnut" haircut. But I agree, it enhances the aura of the character:-)
