If you live under a rock, let me be the first to tell you that Korea is hyper focused on Beauty. In addition to the dozens of Gorgeous Korean Actors I mention in these blog posts let's just say that the country and its citizens are beautiful. Our Tour Leader as well as our Tour Organizer both had gorgeous skin and all the ladies in our group were jealous.
How did this happen? Well, perhaps it's just luck of the draw and genetics -or- it could be the plethora of beauty products and beauty treatments available. The Gmamas decided to take advantage of being in the Capital of Beauty by going to a Salon and enjoying some of its services. Most of the group decided to go with the 15 or 18-step scalp treatment. (For those of us who did not partake of this, we wonder what on earth could one do to one's scalp for 18 different steps!) Apparently this involved

photos of scalp 'before' (egads, their scalp looks like that?!)
massage with robotic hand
massage with human hands
oily stuff put on hair
more massaging
baking inside an old-fashioned bonnet hair dryer (1950's here we come!)
12 more steps that I don't know about
We had hair trims, scalp treatment, blow-outs, color analysis, all while served drinks and little cookies. (Alas the make-up artist did not make an appearance so I was not able to have Kpop Idol Makeup applied to my face. That was probably for the best since I would have had Gorgeous Korean Men falling at my feet had I done that...)

We shared photos with family to provide proof of our adventures. My favorite response was when a certain relative was sent a photo of Favorite Daughter at the completion of her session said relative asked for an 'after' photo. Oh! She has a lot of ground to make up for this gaffe!

It looks like it was a lot fun! And, it appears some of the group enjoyed safely getting out of their comfort zones in a foreign country.
