BTS OR BUST!

If you’re an American and you had a smattering of history during your school years, you know that the slogan ‘California or Bust’ was popular during the California Gold Rush of 1849. Yes, the term ‘bust’ is slang, and it means one will do anything and everything to achieve a goal.

Well, dear readers, our goal was to attend a BTS concert, and we made it happen on May 16 in Palo Alto, CA. Most of the kudos go to Judy here, who organized the bulk of our crazy fun weekend. If it weren’t for her organizational skills, we wouldn’t have had a place to stay during the two nights we were there. Heck we wouldn’t even have had tickets!

Along the way we asked Barbara from Minneapolis, Karo from Tucson, Ping from Davis, and two more best buddies (who wish to remain anonymous) to join in the chaos. We were seven of the happiest people on earth, and we weren’t even going to Disneyland. Go figure! (Here, a special shoutout to our one, lone male who attended with us is due. What a mensch! No, that’s not Korean.)

As Judy mentioned, before the concert we caught up with two more Kdrama buddies, Tracey and Yvonne. We met both of these fabulous women at different events that draw Kdrama enthusiasts. Although we had only laid eyes on Yvonne once, and just I had seen Tracey twice, thanks to the modern world - Facebook, Instagram, texts, emails, and yes, even phones - when we saw them in person it was like they were long lost friends.

We both feel so fortunate to have had such a lovely weekend with old and new friends! ~ Pat
