CNBlue Live in LA!

I believe my last concert was in the 1980’s when I saw the Irish band, The Chieftains. Clearly concerts have not been a huge part of my life.
So why go to this one? My sad tale is that my favorite Korean musician (Kim Feel) had a concert in LA but I thought for 1 day before buying tickets. Mistake!!! Sold out. Baby Brother advised ‘oh Judy, if you learn of a concert buy tickets immediately and sell them later if you don’t go.’ Well duh. (An interesting note - I tuned in to Kim Feel doing a LIVE broadcast on Instagram and inquired if he had plans for another US concert; he replied in English that there are no plans. That was cool; a conversation.)
Anyway, CNBlue popped up on my Instagram feed and I pounced! A plane ticket, hotel room, and three Uber rides later and there I was! In line with 2,000 of my closest friends all under the age of 40. Actually I had predicted I’d be the oldest person in attendance so while in line I scanned the crowd for gray hair. I accosted one group of potential guys but they assured me I was older. Sadly while exiting the concert I asked another attendee and she was 80…. But she didn’t wear hearing aids and hadn’t flown in for the event. I should get extra credit for that don’t you think?
The concert itself was great fun. Niece Jessica tagged along and took photos for ‘content.’ The Novo Theater is a small venue…. Standing only on lower level and balcony seating for those of us who would probably collapse if forced to stand and jump for 2+ hours. This band is ‘genre bending’ and features rock, ballads, and kpop style songs. Everyone assumes if you’re seeing a Korean music show it’s Kpop but there’s actually a wide variety of music coming out of Korea and this band is no exception. Worth the trip!
I shock even myself. I may be in love with this singer...
A fun blog entry! And, the video clip is an added bonus! It reminded me of my energetic Rock n' Roll concert days. So happy that you went and had a good time.
Judy, you're a woman after my own heart. A few years ago I drove by myself to the Winnipeg Folk Festival in large part, to see a West African guitarist I love. I have to say, I've never heard of CNBlue. Now I'm curious! I do know of Kim Feel from k-drama OSTs and remember that I like his songs. I'll have to go to Spotify to remember which they are.
I’m attending my first K-pop concert this summer in Phoenix. I’m hoping to get a light-up stick to wave around during the concert!
