Judy made me do it, and I'm glad she did!

Today I dragged my husband to watch the recently released movie ‘THE ROSE: COME BACK TO ME.' Guess what? He liked it as much as I did!

This just out show is a documentary about how the four members of the group met, started busking in Hongdae, became popular, split apart during COVID, and found each other again to become a world wide sensation. Judy had the foresight to see their live concert when it was in AZ. I’m still kicking myself I didn’t go with her.
Three were born in Korea, one in the USA. All are equally talented at song writing, singing, and playing many different kinds of musical instruments. Sammy (aka Woo-sung) the American born member, eventually made his way to Korea as a K-pop trainee. There he met Leo (Do-joon,) Jeff (Tae-gyeom,) and Dylan (Ha-joon.) Their first song to score a hit, ‘SORRY’ was completely produced by them because Leo was proficient in using musical software. This is a key element in their success. They learned to collaborate without a producer and could be completely independent of outside interference.
Although this worked for a while, eventually they signed with a company that tried to take control. At this point COVID and the military separated them. After a lengthy court battle, which they won, they began a world wide tour and have been wildly successful. What a charming group of young men.
THIS IS THE KIND OF STORY WE NEED RIGHT NOW!

The theatre was small, and Tony and I were the only ones there who hadn’t heard the group. (How do I know this? Hey, it’s me. I talked to everyone there!) There were even members of THE BLACK ROSE FAN CLUB there. Needless to say, The Rose music is now on my Spotify.
Judy: I can absolutely visualize Pat chatting it up with every single member of the audience! I too attended a showing of the movie & it was great fun.
