Reaching for Fame…

We’ve been riding in style…

• The Gmamas actually have had a private bus for the entire October trip… it even has a sign in the front stating it was the Kdrama-Gmamas on board. No mingling with the masses aboard our vehicle! Our Tour Leader, Mi-Jin, had to ask what ‘Gmamas’ meant so clearly it doesn’t translate easily into Hangul. Because of that I’m sure we avoided being mobbed by fans…

• Since we rode the Bullet Train across the peninsula of Korea to Gyeongju we switched buses for that leg of the trip. The picture attached clearly shows the infamous, Gmama's Gyeongju Party Bus in full regalia. Apparently the ‘ahjummas’ (or ‘older women’) used to rent the Party Bus & have a karaoke session while dancing in the aisles. That is no longer permitted…. The ahjummas have to stay in their seats while doing karaoke. What a blast that would be… lights and singing all while comfortably seated on the bus. Talk about convenience!

• When leading us on foot Mi-jin boldly marched through train stations, markets, and sidewalks carrying a Kdrama-Gmamas sign above her head. Again, we were admired by all passersby. In fact, Favorite Daughter made contact with someone on the escalator who saw the sign and said ‘oh, I love Kdramas.’ Favorite Daughter whipped out a Gmamas Business Card and proudly passed it to her before reaching the next level. It was a thrilling moment for every member of the Gmamas!

Korea is abuzz with everyone asking ‘who are the Kdrama-Gmamas?’ I’m so proud.
