Okay, my little vacay from watching Kdramas is over, and I’m once again going down the rabbit hole (Judy’s term) for my favorite pastime, and you know what it is.
For those of you who may have missed my SLACKER post, I became obsessed with Oswald Wynd, a Scottish writer, and decided I wanted to read any of his books I could find. Since they were written between the late ‘40’s and the mid ‘80’s, I had to enlist help from my local library to find them. I justified reading them as a respite from Kdramas because they were all set in Asia, and they had the good sense to mentioned Korea occasionally.

Yoo Soo-bin (also was in CLOY), Go Min-si, Kang Ha-neul, & Kim Shin-rok.
My return to kdrama watching is Tastefully Yours, a little gem of a show about my favorite subject: food. (I know you thought I was going to say a hot Korean guy, but who do you think I am? Judy?) Okay, it’s about more than food. It fulfills the Kdrama requirements that include family tensions, silliness, and, of course love. I’m only five episodes in, and I’ve already seen the obligatory first kiss. Judy, if you haven’t watched it, that kiss is going to do NOTHING for your hot Korean guy obesssion. I’m hoping for your sake they bring their A game in the kiss department.
But enough about kissing. My salivary glands are getting a workout watching the lead, Go Min-si, create the most mouth watering food ever, even gimbap. (How did she make those carrots? I want to know). In this show she’s a gourmet cook who cares about absolutely every aspect of preparing a meal from growing to hunting to procuring to the final exquisite looking dish. She’s made seopsanjeok and neobiani, both grilled beef dishes. They look delicious, but, hey, give me that gimbap every time! ~ Pat

What is most interesting about this post is the fact that the leading man, Kang Ha-neul is also one of the leads in the show that I am currently watching, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Kind of like the Twilight Zone, isn't it? And a bit of trivia here... Ha-neul is reportedly one of the 'nicest guys in the Korean film industry.' ~ Judy
I love his all around good guy persona in this series. Even when he’s playing an amoral chaebol, you just know he’s going to turn it around and make you root for him. ~ Pat
