HOO LEE GANS

See these 'out there' people? They’re part of a fan group that supports Jung Hoo Lee, the Korean outfielder who plays for the SF Giants. They’re hard to miss at a game, and that’s where I ran into them.

Having no shame, I walked up to one and asked him for an explanation. It turns out that their unique headdress is in homage to Hoo Lee because, and I quote, ‘he’s on fire!!' They sit together at the game, and when Hoo Lee is at bat or makes a play, they go wild. It’s a lot of fun to watch.
Sometimes it pays to be persistent AND lucky. It turns out the guy I was talking to was the founder of the group, and he made me an honorary member (at least I thought that was what he meant when he handed me an official Hoo Lee Gan pin).
You can also see the Hoo Lee fight song, which I never heard with all the screaming going on. I just signed up for their newsletter! ~ Pat https://www.sfhooleegans.com

You know, there's a whole world out there of people with specific & unusual interests. This ties into the post Pat wrote about earlier (Venn Diagrams) .... if we hadn't fallen for Kdramas she would never have gone to this game & discovered the HooLeeGans! Isn't life amazing? ~ Judy

Pat…..I can totally see you in one of those hats……
That's so cool, Pat! It pays to be assertive. And, it's not like those fans with their heads on fire don't want attention.
