Uniforms!

Apparently all Korean high school students wear uniforms to school. Typically these are skirts for the girls and slacks for the boys combined with either a blazer or perhaps a sweater vest, and ties. It looks like each school has their own school tartan or look. It's kind of curious that plaids are the chosen pattern in an east Asian country but that's certainly the case.

Well, I recently saw two Kdramas that featured school uniforms in the storyline.
In both cases adults went on special dates to an amusement park wearing matching school uniforms. This was presented as the 'classic date' from Korean society.
I remember when I was in Busan that you could rent special costumes to roam around the streets... they consisted of two options. Either the traditional hanbok or.... you guessed it... a school uniform. ~ Judy
When we go back to Korea should we rent the school uniforms or the hanboks and parade around? I’m thinking the hanboks, although I had a difficult time getting my large chest-and large everything else-into a hanbok. No one has seen my knees in years, and I’d like to keep it that way. ~ Pat

If I remember correctly from my childhood Catholic friends, those short skirts would never pass the kneeling test! But then styles were just below the knee for everyone back in those Dark Ages. I wonder if they have another sort of test for the length now or in Korea do people not try to test the limits as much as we do?
