KOTHAI Republic is a Korean Thai fusion restaurant in San Francisco that I’ve eaten at twice. It’s fantastic!
The last time I was there, the very engaging host, Sung Park, playfully admonished me for having my cell phone on during dinner. When I told him I was showing photos of my recent trip to Korea, that started a conversation about his home country, the Hallyu exhibit at the Asian Art Museum, and, of course, Kdramas.
I told him about our blog, he wanted to know if we had any screen presence, and this is where I had to thank the stars for Judy who has made sure we’re on Instagram. To our delight, he then “liked” over 40 posts. It made Judy’s day…and mine!
When we left he thanked me for visiting his country. Of course I will go back to KOTHAI and hopefully I will have Judy in tow! ~ Pat
Pat doesn't really give justice to what happened. I was calmly watching a Kdrama and my phone started dinging.... and dinging....and dinging. OMG have we finally been discovered? Is my favorite, gorgeous Korean man reaching out? Not quite but I'm not complaining (much).... we got all these likes from something called Kothai Republic. I checked out their profile & sent a quick message thanking them for the likes and asking 'why us?' They said 'your friend just ate here and told us about your blog.' Ha! I immediately called Pat & they were just in the car leaving. This is how fast these social media platforms can respond! Kothai is now my favorite Korean/Thai restaurant in the San Francisco area... I hope to go there at some point! ~ Judy
