When I first read about domestic coffee trailers in ‘The Washington Post’ newspaper, I was miffed. I mean, anyone who follows Kdramas, Kpop, and Korean culture just KNOWS coffee trucks were a thing in Korea long before they were Stateside. C’mon, people. Korea did it first, and they should get the credit.
After I cooled down and actually read the article, I’ve come to understand they’re not exactly the same thing. The ones here are mobile coffee trucks that have become a part of American life from San Francisco to Washington, DC, and places in between. They’re conveniently located to be in areas people congregate.
In Korea, these mobile coffee carts are hired and parked at filming sites. They have banners, messages, pics of the actors, and lots of menu choices. Anyone can have them sent to any actor. That is, of course, if one can find the filming site and can afford the cost. I have no idea what they cost, but I’d rather spend my won on getting to Korea.
This brings up an interesting dilemma for the Gmamas. If we were to pool our money and pick a Kdrama upon which to bestow our attentions, what would it be? Better yet, would we pick male or female? It would definitely be a livey discussion. I’m pretty sure Judy would pick her latest heart throb. I might choose my current favorite, Kim Mi-kyung, the Ahjumma who starred in both Healer, and Welcome to Samdal-ri.
No matter. Until I win the lottery, it ain’t happening.~ Pat
Judy here. Surely you jest? You don't know if we'd pick a male or female? Of COURSE it would go to a gorgeous Korean MALE actor. Now, I'm with you on trying to pick who exactly that would be... Jung Hae-in? Kim Soo-hyun? Woo Do-hwan? Lee Min-ho? Lee Byun-hung? Lee Song-yi? Son Sok-ku? Gong Yoo? Lee Dong-wook? Song Joong-ki? Yoo Yeon-seok
