Mt Gwanak vs Sedona?

You know the Gmamas are always on the cutting edge when it comes to new and interesting topics, right? Well, I think I will propose some sort of showdown between Mt Gwanak (just outside of Seoul) and the Red Rocks of Sedona, Arizona. Both of these tourist hot spots claim to have special energy and a mystical aura. It'll be like Sister Cities with a Twist!

In Mt Gwanak's case it provides you with luck. Anyone who visits Mt Gwanak is supposed to gain good luck. And to encourage repeat visits it's said that if you make the same wish while on Mt Gwanak three different occasions that wish will come true.
Sedona's claim to fame is its mystical and healing properties. Since it covers a wide area there are many maps that target the special vortexes that are allegedly common. All you have to do is hike to those special spots & BAM! the mystical energy will hit you.
Perhaps we could have some sort of contest... kind of like 'Queen for a Day' from my childhood whereby the most pathetic individual describes their miserable existence and wins the big prize (usually a washer & dryer) for the worst life. We could have unlucky, downtrodden individuals visit both Sedona and Mt Gwanak and see which location changes their life for the better. Perhaps a syndicated show on Netflix?
The biggest difference I see between the two mystical hotspots is the number of humans. Yes, Sedona is probably a larger geographic area but boy, the crowds on Mt Gwanak are just so impressive. For my eldest son, who once did a presentation titled 'Go Camping with me if You want to See No One Else' I'm guessing Mt Gwanak is of no interest... even with the promised good luck. ~ Judy

Mt Gwanak is certainly easier to get to than Sedona! See the person in the foreground covered in sweat? That would have been me. Actually, this was one of the places I wanted to see when I went to Korea. My brother in law wanted to do it as well, then my sister got sick and they cancelled the trip. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise. I guess I’ll have to figure out another way to become enlightened…like watching Kdramas. ~Pat
