My Early Days....

It's Judy. I am absolutely certain that no one but me noticed this. On the front page of the Korean Herald in August they featured a photo of a South Korean tank. The article was discussing the South Korean military.

But that's not at all what I noticed. I noticed the paint job on the tank! But of course... didn't you?

In my earlier life..... much earlier..... I actually worked for the Dept of the Army painting tanks. This nifty photo shows a terrific camouflage paint job that even involves the turret. That was a challenge for me when I was painting tanks... the camouflage pattern has to work with both positions of the turret.... the moving position as well as the firing position. Since they didn't feature both positions in the Herald article I cannot confirm this but it looks pretty good from the one side!

Isn't it just great the kinds of things you learn from the Gmamas?

See how that pattern flows to the upper part of the turret? Nicely done! (I do think the sharp angles on the left hand black section should be remedied and that unnatural looking vertical green seam on the turret.... but perhaps I'm nitpicking.)

Judy, this is so mind boggling I don’t have a retort except to say it goes to show you you never really know someone even if you live across the street from them for ten years and write a blog with them…
