Room Cafes

Judy here... per an article in the Korean Herald (you read this too, don't you?) the Korean government is cracking down on Room Cafes.

In Tucson we had the 'No-Tell Mo-Tell' but in Korea they are euphemistically called Room Cafes. Apparently a private room that has a bathroom and a bed.... and they rent by the hour. Now that doesn't sound so different so why is the Korean government involving themselves?

Well, apparently the primary consumers of these discreet hideaways have been High School students. I'm guessing since Koreans own less cars per household than Americans that the backseat option isn't as viable for them.
