THERE’S AN APP FOR THAT
Yes, I mean APP. App of course is short for application. It’s a type of software program made to help one do a specific task. Yes, I had to look that definition up online.....yesterday when one of our new followers asked if we had an app for our blog, I had no clue. (Remember, Judy is the one who does all the technical stuff. You can’t imagine how long it took to put all my posts in red by myself, but I am sure Judy will be happy to tell you.) ((Heck it only took 2 years...))
I should be a bit humiliated, right? I was a bit mortified how quickly our new followers figured out we had an actual app and downloaded it. (***) I guess this is my ‘mea culpa’ post then! I’m trying to decide if I should just learn this stuff or let Judy handle it all. She does such a good job. I might have to go watch a Kdrama and ruminate a bit. ~Pat
It's Judy and this cracks me up. I suspect many of our readers may fall into the same category that Pat is alluding to here... They/We kind of understand computers but we don't really get all the jargon and layers and acronyms and all that goop. I cannot tell you how many times I've asked Pat to enter 'blah blah' into the URL area only to hear deafening silence from her end.
Plus I have those 'special' friends who consistently point out to me they cannot figure out how to write comments on our posts. Apparently 'signing in' is beyond their scope of computer knowledge.
So for a Beginner's Guide to Kdrama-Gmamas let me say:
it's a blog
it's hosted on an app called Wix
for maximum enjoyment you Follow us on our Blog
following us on Instagram is not the same thing
it doesn't provide as much info & the posts are truncated
we do not post on Instagram regularly
and we cannot get your 'stats' included on our blog numbers
Ditto on Facebook
*** Sorry but this is incorrect. Our blog is not an app. It is simply a site you can visit and read. You do not need to download anything to access the blog. You simply go to the 'address' aka 'url' aka "Kdrama-Gmamas.com" and read to your heart's content. Sometimes your phone will pop up with a banner that says 'do you want to go to APP' and if you say Yes that will permit you to download WIX and, I believe, will give you a shortcut button on your phone. But if you do NOT say yes you can still proceed and read whatever you wish. I know this is confusing but stay with me.... Wix is the App we use. Kdrama-Gmamas.com is not an app it is simply HOSTED on the app called Wix. Also if you want to write a comment you can sign in so your name shows up -or- you can post as an 'unknown guest.' I know, I know, computers are hard...

I love technology. No, I don't understand all of it but I jumped on the band wagon as soon as I could, back in the 90s. I also went to university as an adult student and had to use computers for all my assignments. As a lousy speller I loved how I could get help with that almost instantly. By the way I keep nearly all my passwords on a "storage bank" on my computer and phone. I also keep them in "notes" on my phone, just in case! (not sure what of). Ok, Judy. I get the hint - it's not that I don't know how to log in, I just don't remember the password that is constantly required. So, I've reset my password and hopefully it won't keep asking.....Some of us just don't have the time to constantly reset. I do enjoy your blog and would click the heart as that's all I was allowed to do. Anyway, thank you to you and Pat for teaching me about Korea and culture.
