Tteokbokki...maybe

It's a high of 44 degrees fahrenheit here today in Northern CA, and I might just tuck into a bowl of Tteokbokki to warm myself... or not. What is Tteokbokki? In a nutshell, it's chewy rice cakes in an anchovy sauce. Right away this leaves Judy OUT. The rice cakes are cylindrical and look like pasta if you've got your denial going. Tteokbokki can be spicy and is a very popular street food. Also, it's affordable, as there is no meat in it.
Tteokbokki is just one of the exotic sounding foods that Koreans eat. Here's another goody: gimbap. To the untrained American eye -mine to be exact- it looks like large sushi rolls. The actress Park Eun-bin made gimbap a household word when she portrayed Woo Young Woo in the kdrama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo.' It was literally the only thing she ate during the entire 16 episode series. Judy might be brave enough to try this. Fingers crossed!

There are so many more Korean foods to discuss. Right now, I gotta go eat dinner. Talking about food has made me ravenous. If only there was a gimbap street food cart outside my front door. Sigh.
I’ll be curious to hear what becomes your favorite street food after your visit to Korea.
Does Judy not eat seafood?
