Watch Out!

I’m watching Season Two of Stranger. In one of the scenes, a prosecutor is missing, and the police and fellow prosecutors are trying to find him. One mentions the missing guy didn’t go home the night before and didn’t have time to change his clothes or his watch.
What? How many watches do you have? I’ve just got one, but watches are a big deal in Kdramas. If the actor in the Kdrama is well heeled, many times there are shots of his dressing room and his array of fancy watches. Notice I said “actor”. I’ve never noticed that actresses

have a stable of watches the way actors do. However, they make up for the lack of watches with shoes-mostly spike heels and purses. How can they walk in those things? Gmamas can’t, that’s for sure.
Back to watches. In Stranger, the police have their very own company issued POLICE WATCHES. This turns out to be a clue that helps solve part of the case. This would be similar to what in American culture? I’ve no clue. What a hassle it would be to have to remember to put on the appropriate watch for work. Can you imagine getting to work and having to go home because you had on the wrong watch? Me, neither!
I don’t have a watch at all. I use my phone if I want to know the time. But it’s true, the rich guys have a lot of them. And truth be told., they can be beautiful. The watches, I mean. The actors isn’t even a ‘can’, they just are.
Still have to watch season 2. Maybe I need to push it up a little.
