WHAT I LEARNED IN KOREA

We’ve been dwelling on such total heavyosity themes I thought I’d knock it back a little and talk about something completely frivolous…like gift wrap.
My introduction to Korean gift wrap came from Song Lee. As many of you know, she is the CEO of the travel agency Judy used to plan her trip to Korea. I met her in Busan, and she brought me a beautifully wrapped gift that, after I opened it, I asked her to rewrap it so I could take a video to see how she did it.
My second interaction was at the cooking class I took in Seoul that was part of my tour. When we arrived, the teacher had an apron for everyone to use while cooking. I liked it so much, I bought several. The instructor wrapped one for me. She even gave me some Korean rubber bands to use when I got home. Yes, they’re different!
Then began the search for the appropriate fabric to use for the wrap.... This was almost like my own version of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears." The first fabric I bought was too thick, the second too transparent. Judy sent me several from a batch she’d bought herself. Good ol' Judy: she sent me the colors she didn’t like! They were also too large, but I snatched them up.
So now it was time to wrap the gift I was giving to my daughter for her birthday. Necessity is the mother of invention, isnt it? I cut the too large fabric in half, used that and the transparent one, and this is what I came up with. Of course I asked for the the fabric and the rubber bands back. No worries, though. I let her keep the gift. ~ Pat

Your creativity is really amazing!
