I just googled how to say goodbye in Korean. It’s complicated. Hopefully Judy can help me out here.

What am I saying goodbye to? (In the hopes that my English teacher daughter reads this, I’ll rephrase this to ‘To what am I saying goodbye?’)

It’s the Pyeongsang!

For those of you who don’t read this blog regularly, a pyeongsang is a Korean bench. It’s used outside for many purposes, mostly to eat and relax. I had one built for my backyard last year. Guess what? NO ONE USED IT, including me. As most Americans my age know, it’s tough to sit cross legged with no back support. So while the pyeongsang connected me to all things Korean in a personal way, in a realistic way it just wasn’t happening.

That poor pyeongsang sat in my backyard, completely neglected and taking up valuable space. No one was happier than my husband to get rid of it. Anne, our genius gardener, took on the project of turning it into a planter, and now everyone is happy.

There is a moral to this story. Sigh…. I’ll let someone else decide what it is.~Pat

The moral is that you should have waited till I visited! I would have used it had it not been changed into a planter! ~ Judy
