Why is it that “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” trips off my tongue but I can’t remember any of the actor’s names in my Kdramas? Not only can I say that word without stumbling, but I can also remember it. This is important, dear readers!
Okay, I’m not a total loser. I’ve got some names down: Son Ye-jin, Hyun Bin, Kim Tae-ri, Kim Woo-bin, Lee Byung-hun, Shin Min-ah, Jisoo, Jung Hae-in, and IU, but then the train derails and I’m lost. It’s interesting to talk to my Kdrama buddies and and hear what names they can recall, but mostly we’re hopeless.
I know some linguist would have a good explanation for this dilemma. I’m sure I couldn’t understand what they were explaining! Sigh…
This is where I keep my iPhone handy... always looking up the cast for the show I'm watching & trying to learn their names. But it usually only lasts about 3 minutes & then it's back to a total fog. Except my very favorites...
I have a hard time remembering names even if they’re not Korean. There are still some colleagues I can’t remember their names because they’re not -for me- ‘normal’ names. It’s bad but has nothing to do with aging because it has always been like that.
